FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

TICKET RELATED

How do I buy tickets for a show?

We have various ticket partners, such as Pit.Live, Gigantic, Eventbrite and Skiddle, however if you check out our extensive Gig Guide (found right here on our website) or our Facebook events page, we list each upcoming show and provide links to where tickets can be purchased.

What should I do if my ticket is damaged, lost or stolen?

We operate mainly using digital tickets which helps to eliminate this issue, but if you have misplaced your ticket, please contact the ticket provider and they will be happy to assist you.

Are there age restrictions?

Unfortunately, yes. Most shows are 16+ when accompanied by an 18+ adult. Photo I.D. is required, especially if you are lucky enough to look under 25 as we enforce the challenge 25 policy. Please carefully read the age restrictions on the ticket links as we also host some 18+ only events.

My tickets haven't arrived yet, what should I do?

If the show's months or weeks in advance, don't panic, this is totally normal! If there's less than a week before the show then please contact the ticket provider. They will either send out a new ticket or help by contacting us so we can add you to a collections list on the night of the show.

Can I buy tickets on the door?

Yes - tickets can be purchased on the door via cash or card payment if the show has not already sold out. Please note that advance buying is highly recommended as we cannot guarantee availability on the door. Advance sales are also something that really help us grassroots venues survive!

How do I go about getting a refund?

This is not something we can help with - you'll need to contact the ticket provider or go to where you made the initial purchase to start the process of obtaining a refund.

ACCESSIBILITY

Do you provide companion tickets?

We do! Please reach out to hello@thehairydogderby.co.uk and we can assist in securing you a place at the show.

Do you have disabled toilets?

We have one spacious disabled toilet located in our main bar area directly across from the bar.

How accessible is the venue?

We are completely wheelchair friendly and have ramps and wide spaces to help with access to each area of the venue. On top of that, our staff are always happy to help guide you to where you need to be and accommodate any of your needs.

Do you allow assistance dogs?

Yes we do - however, given the nature of the venue, we would discourage guests from bringing assistance dogs unless absolutely necessary for busy or sold out shows. This is because it can get extremely compact and of course, very loud.

Will I be able to skip the queue?

Yes - if you have difficulty standing for long periods of time and queuing is something you're unable to do, please let a member of staff know upon your arrival and we'll do our best to get you into the venue as quickly and safely as possible.

Do you have seating?

We have seating throughout the games room, main bar area and surrounding the front of the venue in our spacious outdoor smoking area. Our gig room does have a few chairs and tables scattered around the edges, but in the event of a sold out show, we often remove all furniture for the safety of our guests. If seating is something you need in order to be able to attend a show, please email hello@thehairydogderby.co.uk and we will do our utmost to support.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Do I need I.D. to enter the venue?

In short, yes. We enforce the challenge 25 policy so you may be asked by our security team to provide proof of age and if you can't provide it, you will be denied entry. Our bar staff also reserve the right to ask for I.D. when you are ordering at the bar.

Do you have a curfew?

Most shows (excluding club nights) finish between 11pm and 12am. Curfew is strictly 12am, so if you are under the age of 18 attending a show, you'll be kindly asked to leave once the show ends. Our main bar and games room are open until 3am and are strictly 18+ only.

Last entry is at 2:30am and last orders are called around 2:45am.

Do I need I.D. if I am 16 or 17 and with an accompanying adult?

Yes, everyone entering the venue is subject to being asked for I.D. if they look under 25, so it is extremely likely that you will be asked. An accompanying adult does NOT bypass the need to legally prove your age and this can only be done via photo I.D. We are a licensed premises serving alcohol and underage attendees have to be strictly managed.

Is there any other reason why I might not be allowed into the venue

Here at The Hairy Dog, our motto is simple: Don't be a c**t!

We reserve the right to refuse admission or service without having to state a reason, so please behave appropriately or we may refuse entry without refund.

Where can I make a complaint?

Whilst we hope you had a fantastic time with us, we always welcome any and all feedback. We'd love to help if things just didn't quite measure up for you.

Please email hello@thehairydogderby.co.uk as soon as possible with as much information as you can and we'll work to resolve the situation.

What is an acceptable form of I.D.?

A passport, driving licence (full or provisional) or a PASS-accredited identity card, such as a CitizenCard.

Will there be strobe lighting or pyrotechnics in use?

Many of our shows may use either of these. If you have any major concerns or questions regarding a particular event, please email us and we'll be happy to assist.

How do I hire the venue?

When will the band(s) start?

Set times vary and are usually communicated to us after sound-check is carried out on the day of the event. We do our best to share this information via our socials/events pages, however it is not always possible in advance. We recommend arriving for when doors open or just after if you want to ensure you catch all the bands.
